Our client is a well-known ASX listed mining company based in West Perth. Due to continued growth they are now seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist for an initial 6 month period to join their Commercial team and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.
As a Contracts Specialist you will play a crucial role in managing and optimising contractual agreements throughout various project lifecycles. The successful candidate will work closely with various internal stakeholders, external vendors and legal teams to ensure compliance, mitigate risk and drive successful project outcomes.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Contract Development and Review
- Draught, review and negotiate contracts including procurement agreements, service contracts and vendor agreements.
- Ensure contractual terms align with company policy and industry standards.
Contract Administration
- Monitor and administer contract performance to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and other departments to track deliverables, milestones and timelines outlined in contracts.
Risk Management
- Identify and access potential contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with legal counsel to resolve disputes and discrepancies in a timely and effective manner.
Vendor Relationship Management
- Cultivate positive relationships with key vendors and contractors.
- Facilitate communication between the company and external parties.
Compliance
- Remain informed about relevant laws, regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance.
- Implement and enforce policies and procedures related to contract management.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and organised contract records.
- Prepare regular reports on contract status performance and potential issues for management review.
The successful candidate will be motivated and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. You will possess proven contracts experience ideally within the mining industry and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
You will have a strong understanding of legal and contractual principles relevant to mining operations in addition to excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
