About the role:
The Commercial Contracts Specialist will provide expert advice on commercial and contract matters to improve the commercial outcomes for Alinta Energy Retail. This role supports a diverse set of commercial and contracting initiatives which spans both energy and non-energy markets nationally. Reporting to the Commercial and Contracts Manager, the Commercial Contract Specialist will also be involved in other initiatives such as managing a suite of key regulated agreements and implementing a new commercial framework. This full-time permanent role operates on a hybrid model and can be based in either Perth, Melbourne, or Sydney.
In this role, you’ll be:
- Assisting with the assessment of commercial initiatives with a focus on contractual and commercial matter including contract reviews, procurement activities, M&A, new energy initiatives and contract renewals
- Providing sound commercial advice and leading commercial workstreams requiring commercial analysis to develop and inform recommendations for Alinta Energy
- Reviewing and researching proposals and opportunities through a commercial lens, requiring an understanding of relevant markets, including value drivers, sensitivities, and opportunities
- Developing an in-depth knowledge of all relevant distribution agreements, industry codes and regulations
- Assisting with the development and running of a commercial approval framework to inform commercial decision making
Ideally, you’ll bring to the role:
- Comprehensive experience in a similar commercial or contracts role
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, law or a related discipline
- Highly developed ability to draft and review commercial terms and work in a team environment, and effectively prioritise and deliver quality work
- Experience analysing and reviewing commercial proposals
- Ability to form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and a strong attention to detail
