We are working with an O&G Owner / Operator who are looking for a Controls Systems Technician to join their operational team in Queensland. This is a staff (salary) position, to work across Coal Seam Gas (CSG) projects in rural Queensland. The role is site based in Dalby, working on a 15x13 roster, DIDO or BIBO from Brisbane.
Key requirements for this opening:
- Strong Controls and Communications Systems experience
- Preference to Electrotechnology and Instrumentation level III certs
- In depth knowledge of OEM control Systems, PLC's and communication systems (Honeywell Experian, RTU202, Allen Bradley PLC's, Emerson Delta V, Siemens T300 and S7, ABB systems and equipment, etc.)
- Good trouble shooting experience, supporting the I&C Engineering Team, monitoring and assisting with alarm rationalisation and local Control Systems uploads.
The role:
Provide expert technical support to the process control, communication and instrumentation systems across the wellfield and facility assets. Improve the management of these assets by developing and implementing process control improvements and executing minor projects.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the development and implementation of process control and communications management systems and ensure they are utilised to maximise robustness of the process control function.
• Support the project pipeline by identifying and assessing Control Systems/communications related project opportunities and preparing project initiation documents in time for annual budget cycles.
• Progress capital, operational and business improvement projects through the project lifecycle using the project delivery model to achieve the goals of the various projects. Improve project outcomes by participating effectively in design reviews and supporting transition to operation activities.
• Assist the operation to achieve good project outcomes by providing effective owners representation into projects run by other parts of the business; for example at design reviews, HAZOP’s etc.
• Build Control Systems competency within the operation by transferring skills toother technicians. Develop strong relationships with Brisbane based operations support team members to maximise the benefit the operation obtains from these individuals.
Preference on Qualifications:
• Certificate III in Electrotechnology
• Certificate III in Instrumentation
• Current electrical licence recognised in Queensland
• Installation and Maintenance of electrical equipment in hazardous areas
• Gas Test Atmosphere MSMWHS217 or equivalent
• Open driver’s licence (Manual)
• Light Vehicle Operations RIIVEH305 or PMASUP236
• Current First Aid including CPR and LV rescue
Desirable:
• Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Instrumentation and Control.
• Working at Heights -RIIWHS204D or equivalent
• Elevated Work Platform High Risk Work Licence (EWP)
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience using CMMS to record asset history, failure reporting and work order completion – SAP would be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience working with Honeywell, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Emerson and AAB systems and equipment.
