The Control and Network Systems Engineer is responsible for the installation, testing and maintenance of innovative shaft and hoisting automation, control and communications equipment for RUC Mining projects. With a key focus on mine hoisting systems, wireless shaft communication technologies and industrial process networking.

- Develop control system specifications in accordance with RUC Mining functional requirements.
- Program PLC’s and SCADA at project level utilising the organisation’s design procedure.
- Complete and approve design calculations to ensure the correct specification, installation and operation of Instrumentation and Control equipment.
- Prepare and review control system manuals for Instrumentation and Control installations.
- Prepare, review and approve Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) documents.
- Develop commissioning procedures for Instrumentation, Control and Networking installations.
- Analyse and interpret test information to complete root cause failure analysis.
- Collaborate with other Engineers and other personnel to identify, define and solve problems.
- Diagnose root cause analysis of malfunction or failure of operational equipment.
- Perform calibrations, configuration, tests and adjustments to control and Networking equipment.
- Conduct maintenance inspections and quality audits to ensure system reliabiltiy.
- Maintain automated production processes.
- Interface with vendors to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Participate and contribute to technical meetings and design reviews for the discussion of issues, risks, design alternatives and directions.
To be successful you will also need:
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical or Automation Engineering
- Prior experience in a maintenance and reliability role
- Previous experience with industrial networking and wireless technologies
- Experience with Mine Hoists will be highly regarded.
- Microsoft Office proficient
- Experience with Rockwell Automation systems highly regarded.
- 3 years mining experience
- Australian working rights
- Valid Electrical Licence
- Valid Manual C Class Driver’s License
- First Aid
- LVR & CPR
- National Police Clearance (within 3 months).
- RIIWHS204E - Work Safely at Heights
- CPCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card)
- Pass Pre Employment Medical
