About the Role
This is an outstanding opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced professional to step into a role which is central to our operations at the Iona Gas Plant – Lochard's gas storage and processing facility.
The Controls Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise in the operation and maintenance of our Honeywell Distributed Controls System, Safety Instrumented System (SIS), Access Control and Mustering System (ACMS), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and other Operational Technology systems.
Either base yourself in our Melbourne Head Office (Southbank) or live and work in a wonderful community in Victoria's southwest – commuting distance from the city of Warrnambool, or townships of Port Campbell and Timboon.
The role requires time spent onsite, so if you are Melbourne based you must be prepared for frequent travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot the BPCS, SIS, ACMS, CCTV and other OT systems
- Patch management and lifecycle management of the BPCS, SIS, ACMS, CCTV and other OT systems
- Implement, maintain and monitor appropriate cyber security measures for the BPCS, SIS, ACMS, CCTV and other OT systems to ensure compliance with Lochard Energy risk appetite and SOCI legislation.
- Provide expert advice by liaising with Process, Electrical and Instrumentation engineers, and Plant Operators.
- Assist our operations and engineering teams to improve control system specifications
- Provide engineering support for capital projects (develop, review and screen project proposals, feasibility studies and concept designs)
- Support in management of design and execution activities for BPCS, SIS, ACMS, CCTV and other OT system projects including stakeholder consultation, vendor interfacing and change management.
About You
This role will suit a qualified and experienced professional who has demonstrated experience in a similar role in the oil and gas / hydrocarbon / refining / petrochemical industry.
Being a small team, you are one of only a few "go-to" people on site, and therefore you will be used to combining your technical expertise with a friendly and approachable attitude.
Key skills and experience:
- Demonstrated working experience with Honeywell Software and Hardware systems. In particular, Honeywell Experion PKS System, C200/C200E/C300 Controllers, PHD, Uniformance and FSC systems is a must!
- Demonstrated working experience with Microsoft Windows Servers and Workstations
- Experience supporting various computer network and virtual network architectures (VMWare ESX Server, vSphere Client, vCentre, vMotion).
- Experience with relational databases (i.e. MS SQL Server)
- Experience with TCP/IP network switches and routers
- Experience or exposure to Access Control and CCTV would be a bonus, but is not essential
