The Company

Exhaust Control Industries, are the recognised leader in Air and Noise pollution control products in Australia and South East Asia.  ECI is privately owned Australian manufacturing and installations company which provides proven products to a wide variety of industries such as mining, CBM/UCG, power generation, transport, construction equipment and marine sectors to name a few.  This is a great opportunity to provide solutions to clients that can benefit from products using the latest technology from around the world.  ECI are seeking a dynamic and positive Sales Engineer to extend and grow our customer base in VIC, SA and TAS.

Initially reporting to the NOM, (National Operations Manager) this role will ideally suit a person with a proven track record in territory and key account management and poses sound lead generation skills – preferably experienced with knowledge of the industry we operate within.  The role will require regular and planned interstate and overseas travel.

The Role

This role specifically involves handling technical inquiries, structuring and executing call plans, tender and quotation preparation and general administration and reporting relating to the role.

The candidate will need to demonstrate skills in the following areas:

  • A good understanding of everything power gen – Generators, Exhaust Systems, Emissions and Catalysts (most favourable), Diesel Fuel Installations, Power Generation System and Installations Packaging.
  • The ability to contact Industry Consultants and key accounts so to nurture and build relationships
  • An ability to apply formulas and processes to size equipment and provide a total solution to the customer. 
  • Work in semi-autonomous fashion - seeking sales opportunities and quotation follow-up.
  • Have a positive 'can-do' attitude - willing to be trained in a variety of products and services. 
  • Liaising with production and administration to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Identification and processing of documents regarding drawings, project files, customer orders etc.
  • Meet sales targets and position KPI’s
  • A level of technical ability relating to pipe-work, metals and their types (& fittings) and general fabrication. 
  • Computer literate – Xcel, Word, Power Point, Data collection/analysis, Auto Cad or Solid works (favourable), etc…

Ideally, your background would involve experience in the sales & manufacturing of total solutions based principals with in the Mining, CBM/UGC, Marine, Power Generation, transport or mechanical services sectors with a priority for superior customer service.

An understanding of metal fabrication, piping and material (steel) types will be viewed favourably.

This is a highly technical full-time, multi-tasking position offers the successful applicant an opportunity to develop their own style, in a fast-paced specialised manufacturing environment.  Full product training and support will be given to the successful applicant. 

A customer call base, within the ECI target market/power generation will be viewed as highly favourable.
