Your Role

We are seeking an inspiring and passionate Centre Cook to join our team at Harmony Balmoral and embark on a wonderful new journey with us. This is a full time position, working around 6:00am-2:30pm.
You will be responsible for:

• Supporting the health and wellbeing of the children through the planning and preparation of nutritious meals and snacks.
• Carrying out the preparation of food for the children at the Centre.
• Ensuring the kitchen environment and equipment is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Ordering and purchasing of ingredients and supplies
• Liaising with suppliers and maintain professional relationships
• Communicating with Educators regarding specific dietary requirements of children and assisting them with clearing away after meals.
• Implementing the menu for the service on a timely basis taking into consideration Harmony's Food and Nutrition policies

Our Centre
Our new centre is nestled along the serene bends of the Brisbane River in Bulimba, a picturesque suburb known for its vibrant café culture, leafy streets, and a welcoming community atmosphere. The 122 place centre is spread across 3 floors, has basement car parking and is accessible by public transport.
About You

Mealtimes and food is a pivotal piece in children's learning and development. We are looking for the right person but desirable experience and qualifications you may hold are:

• Experience in understanding the financial parameters of food preparation, planning and managing appropriately to deliver on these
• Demonstrated responsibility accountability for food preparation area
• A thorough understanding of different dietary requirements and a solutions-focused approach to serving food so that the needs of all children are catered for
• Excellent time and priority management, and professionalism
• Safety Food Handling Certification
• Previous experience in nutrition and dietary requirements of children within a childcare setting
• Current Working with Children Check/Blue card, Driver's License, First Aid Certificate and Asthma/Anaphylactic training
