Chut and co have an excellent opportunity for a full time cook to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Food preparation: overseeing the preparation of food according to recipes and standards, ensuring quality, taste and presentation meet the restaurants standards.
- Kitchen / inventory management: Monitoring and managing food inventory, ordering supplies and controlling costs to maintain profitability.
- Cook must ensure cabinet section is always topped up and presented nicely for customers first thing in the morning.
- Quality control: Ensuring that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet the restaurants quality and safety standards.
- Sanitation and safety: Implementing and enforcing proper hygiene and safety procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Customer relations: Interacting with customers, addressing any concerns or special requests and ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Creativity and innovation: Constantly developing new dishes, techniques and presentations to keep the menu fresh and exciting for customers. Collaboration: working closely with other kitchen staff, FOH staff and management to coordinate operations and maintain a high standard.
- Adaptability: Being able to handle high-pressure situations, adapt to changing circumstances and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
- Continuous learning: Keeping up with the industry trends, new ingredients and cooking techniques to stay ahead in the culinary field.
These responsibilities require a combination of culinary skills, leadership abilities and a business acumen to excel in the role as a cook.
Applicants for this position should:
- Have relevant tertiary qualifications
- At least 2 years relevant experience
- Applicant must have knowledge of food regulations, sanitation practices and proper kitchen hygiene.
- Have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, handle unexpected challenges and problem solve on the fly is important for fast paced environments of a kitchen.
- Must have the ability to multitask, prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
- Clear communication is essential for coordinating with kitchen staff, servers and management as well as interacting with customers.
- Cooks must pay close attention to detail to ensure that dishes are prepared correctly, plated attractively and meet quality standards.
The remuneration for this cook position is $70,000 per year.
