Cook / Chef

Wyl and Co are seeking a full time cook to showcase their skills in our busy cafe!

Wyl and Co is a vibrant and busy cafe, with an awesome local base, producing high quality coffee and food. We pride ourselves with our amazing staff, who will always go above and beyond to give exceptional customer service. 

We are seeking a dedicated and determined person to join our team and lead our kitchen, to continue producing high quality breakfast and cabinet items, as well as ensuring a positive atmosphere for our staff and loyal locals. 

For this role, you will be responsible for:

- Working with the other cooks and FOH team to create fun and exciting menu items.

- Maintaining a high level of food quality and presentation. 

- Managing inventory levels and stock rotation, to ensure the freshest food is being served.

- Utilising your experience to reduce wastage. 

- Working with our Cafe Manager to ensure that menu items are cost effective and in season. 

- Maintaining a clean work environment, to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements for this position:

- Previous experience in managing a kitchen. 

- A passion for creating new menu items and keeping things fresh and exciting.

- Excellent communication and ability to work within a team environment. 

- Able to work in a fast paced environment. 

- Understanding of health and safety regulations within the food industry.

About the position:

- A minimum 38 hour working week.

- Required to work weekends.

- Required to work public holidays.
