Interested? We have a permanent part-time position in our Out of School Hours Care team providing healthy food for primary school children who attend our service.The position would be a great fit for someone who has experience in hospitality, running a school, or club canteen, or is a passionate cook with relevant experience. Immediate start is offered. Must meet full right to work criteria as sponsorship is not available for this position.
About our Organisation: We are a Not for Profit Incorporated Association, and registered Charity, based on the NSW Central Coast. Our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service is one of many programs we provide to our local community. We are committed to providing an environment that is safe and promotes the well-being of all children and young people at all time
The position:You will be responsible for all aspects of food service to the children attending our Out of School Hours Care service. The position includes menu planning, food ordering, preparing, cooking and serving food, cleaning and maintenance of equipment. The service operates at Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School Wyoming and uses the school canteen for food preparation. The office is located nearby at the Wyoming Community Centre.
The position is permanent part-time Mon-Fri, during school terms, as follows:
- 2 pm to 6:00 pm Monday to Friday: Afternoon tea preparation, service, clean up
- Additional 2-3 hours per week as negotiated for online ordering and menu planning.
- Paid attendance at staff meetings and/or training - usually 2 -3 times per school term for 2-3 hours.
- Additional 4-6 hours first and last week of each school term.
While the position is school termed based, additional hours may be offered during school holidays if the successful candidate is interested and available.

Skills and Experience that you will need:
- Efficient and capable cook
- Enthusiastic about engaging with children and contributing to their knowledge about healthy food choices.
- Able to cater for individual child requirements including allergies, specific dietary requirements and needs
- Able to prepare, implement and evaluate the nutritional content of menus for children of all ages
- Strict about complying with relevant food safety and hygiene regulations and standards.
- Mandatory: Prior to commencement you will need to hold, or be prepared to obtain: Relevant safe food handling certificate, Working with Children Check, and, National Police check.
- Completion of Child Safety Training and First Aid Training will form part of the probation period. (Employer paid)
- Formal qualifications and/or experience in working in a food service related field would be highly regarded
