Permanent Relief Team is made up of around 60 qualified educators, teachers and cooks that work across assigned regions. The
Permanent Relief team is led by an experienced early childhood professional, and the team has dedicated coordinators as a support resource. Permanent relief members ensure continuity and high quality education and care for children attending our services when a regular staff member is absent.
The RoleYou will oversee kitchen operations when the regular service Cook is on planned leave, including ordering stock from preferred suppliers for fruit, vegetables, and groceries. Be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious menus from scratch, engage with children in small group cooking experiences, and introduce them to the joys of cooking. Additionally, you will ensure health and safety standards are always maintained at the highest level.
What we're looking for:- Passion for nurturing the love of nutritious meals in children
- Work rights that enable you to work in Australia
- A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) OR hold food safety and food handling qualifications
- Hold or be willing to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check
This role will be 6 hours per day, Monday to Friday finishing no later than 3:30pm. You will receive a travel allowance and the currently hourly rate is $37.93 plus superannuation contributions.We are looking for someone to work across a range of services, including locations such as the CBD, Bankstown, Bella Vista and North Sydney therefore you should hold your driver licence and have access to your own motor vehicle.
