Holroyd Private Hospital is seeking to employ a casual Cook/Kitchen Hand to join their busy department. You will work in a team environment that strives to deliver outstanding healthcare to our patients.
As a Cook/Kitchen Hand your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays
- Assist in daily food preparation and meal assembly
- Maintaining a clean and tidy environment for all food service-related areas of the hospital
- Cleaning duties, including fridges and preparation areas, kitchen area, dish wash area
- Clean and maintain utensils and kitchen equipment in accordance with hospital & industry food safety and hygiene standards
- General cleaning and sanitising of all areas of food preparation areas.
- Monitoring and recording of all relevant food safety data
Selection Criteria:
- Prior experience in Healthcare Food Services
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
- Preferable knowledge of dietary restriction and allergies
- Ability to work autonomously, without supervision, as well as a part of a team
- Demonstrate a great work ethic and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Effective communication skills
- Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service
- Respectful and work well with others to achieve goals
- Act with integrity and show care for the people you work with

- Flexible to work a variety of shifts – split shifts, morning/afternoon shifts & weekend work
The successful applicant will require a minimum of Food Handling Certificate, Police Check as well as a valid Working with Children Check.
