Join the energetic Strategic Communications & Advocacy team at Hume City Council to lead Council's day-to-day communications activities and drive Council's digital, social and visual branding strategies.
As Senior Coordinator of Digital, Brand and Publishing, you will be responsible for managing a team of communications specialists to develop, execute and evaluate a wide range of communications projects and activities to raise awareness and inform the community about Council services, programs, projects, initiatives and events.
This is a unique and strategic role that works closely with the Manager of Strategic Communications & Advocacy to oversee all Council's communications whilst providing senior-level advice on best-practice digital, social and visual brand activities.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading and motivating a team of communications specialists to undertake communications activities that enhance the profile of Council and the City.
- Managing Council's social media, website and other digital communication channels to ensure they are engaging, innovative, targeted, appropriate and cost-effective.
- Coordinating the planning and execution of digital communications projects across the organisation.
- Safeguarding and enhancing Council's reputation by identifying issues, risks and opportunities.
- Conduct Council's visual branding strategy to ensure its evolution.
- Providing senior-level advice across the organisation, in particular to the Mayor, Councillors and Senior Leadership Team, to ensure that Council's communications activities.
Key skills and experience you'll bring to the role:
- Qualifications or demonstrated experience in communications, public relations or marketing or a similar field.
- Significant experience in the planning, development, execution and evaluation of integrated communications strategies.
- Management of digital channels and social media accounts.
- Ability to research, write and edit communication materials for a wide range of mediums and audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing a corporate identity to ensure an organisation is portrayed consistently and perceived positively by target groups.
- Ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop a team in effective and industry-leading strategic communications and stakeholder management.
- A strong understanding of local, state and federal government and experience working in a political environment.
