With a population forecast to increase from the current 120,000 to more than 300,000 by 2036, the position of Coordinator Employee Relations presents a significant career growth opportunity.
Located in the heart of the Macarthur region, Camden is less than an hour’s drive from Sydney’s CBD and covers a total land area of about 200 square kilometres. The LGA currently welcomes over one hundred new residents every week all adding to a thriving, diverse community of 113 different nationalities, emanating from 85 different countries and speaking 64 different languages.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a significant People and Culture Relations team which together, are striving to deliver the highest quality services to both the organisation and to the community for which it serves.
The Role
This key position – Coordinator Employee Relations – reporting to the Head of People and Culture, is responsible for leading a team of twelve Human Resource professionals covering all IR matters, HR Services, Remuneration and Benefits and Injury management and Wellbeing.
Functionally the role’s key responsibilities include but not limited to, attraction, recruitment & selection, onboarding, Employee Relations, industrial relations, performance management, workforce management, position management, payment of staff, injury management and wellbeing services.
About You
As a highly regarded Human Resources professional, you will have a track history of leading people and teams through periods of change and growth, building cultures that you are proud of and being firmly focused on outcomes.
Familiarity of relevant legislation within the Local Government context is preferred, as is demonstrated knowledge of key areas such as IR, recruitment and retention, injury management and payroll.
As would be expected of such a role, well developed communication skills are essential, as is the ability to develop effective partnerships across the organisation.
Lastly, the position will suit an individual who is passionate about people and in delivering best in class services for the community.
It is further expected that the successful applicant will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
