About the Opportunity

To help us achieve this we are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a positive relationship between the Council as an employer and its employees (our people) building a positive workplace culture and driving employee engagement through a variety of initiatives and projects.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in HR or a related field and or extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in planning and delivering successful projects or events.
  • High level written and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong positive working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and adapt on the fly to manage multiple demands, stakeholders and deadlines.

On a typical day this role will:

  • Work with the People Safety and Performance team to deliver on goals identified in the People Strategic Plan, Operational Plan and Functional Business Plan.
  • Coordinate events and activities focused on recognition, engagement, health, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion. 
  • Coordinate consultation processes to ensure that employees have the opportunity to provide input and feedback.
  • In collaboration with the communications team develop and deliver communications to promote team initiatives.
  • Conduct surveys and research, presenting results and putting forward recommendations with a focus on continuous improvement. 

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment Type: Full time, Temporary (to June 2026) 35 hours per week

Salary (exclusive of super): In the range of $83,843 to $94,377 depending on skills and experience
