The Shire of Capel is seeking an experienced and dedicated engineering professional to lead a team delivering high level engineering outcomes for our community through the provision of technical support in the assessment, construction and infrastructure handover of subdivision and land development, project management of engineering and capital works projects and the construction and maintenance of Shire infrastructure.The Shire of Capel is located in the South West, halfway between Bunbury and Busselton. At the Shire we value Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork which underpin the way we work with our elected members, the community and each other.Job DescriptionAs the Coordinator Engineering Services you will apply your engineering knowledge and experience to leading the assessment, review and approval of subdivision and land development projects within the Shire to ensure quality outcomes for the community. You will also provide support in the project management of engineering and capital works projects and the construction and maintenance of Shire infrastructure, ensuring compliance with project requirements including relevant standards, statutory requirements and Council policies and procedures.As a strong leader you will guide and develop your team of technical officers and utilise your excellent communication skills to build strong working relationships across the organisation and liaise professionally and effectively with customers, contractor and stakeholders.The rewards:As part of our team, you will enjoy:

- Base annual salary $95,000 per annum dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications

- Qualifications in Civil Engineering or relevant equivalent
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
- Relevant knowledge and experience in civil design, construction and compliance with relevant local laws, policies and standards for infrastructure assets.
- Proficiency in project management of engineering projects.
- General understanding of Asset Management and its relevance to sustainability.
- Experience in infrastructure planning, assessment and management of subdivisional development
- Highly developed understanding of engineering analysis, design and life cycle management relating to roads, drainage and other public works infrastructure
- Advanced Worksite Traffic Management accreditation and knowledge of Traffic management plan assessment and restricted access vehicle requirements
- Experience in contract management and dealing with contractors
- Demonstrated public relations and interpersonal skills in a customer-based environment with an ability to influence, negotiate and resolve conflict
- Strong organisational skills with the capacity to work unsupervised, manage priorities and meet deadlines
- Computer skills in MS Office (Int/Adv in Word & Excel), MicroStation, AutoCAD and/or CivilCAD
