About the role
Mineral resources has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal EI&C Engineer to work at our Osborne Park Office. Reporting directly to the EI&C Manager, you will lead a team of electrical engineers in various disciplines in the ongoing delivery to the business of construction based projects. This role is part of our internal design team. MinRes is a self preforming business with an internal engineering team that pride is itself on delivery.
The role
- Lead the electrical engineering discipline on projects.
- Reviewing and approving the work from other engineers.
- Supporting the development of Company Standards.
- Participating in the development of solutions and strategies.
- Providing technical support to the Electrical and Instrumentation team.
- Engagement and collaboration with other disciplines.
- Liaising with Client/Operations personnel, Vendors, and other project functions such as commercial and project controls teams.
- Participating in Business Development activities to support growth.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, chartered through Engineers Australia (or other professional bodies with mutual EA recognition).
- Minimum of 15 years' experience within the mining sector.
- Knowledge of Australian and International Codes and Standards.
- Knowledge and experience in the following:
- Electrical equipment packages
- Substation/MCC design
- HV and LV engineering/design
- Power Generation
- Power Distribution
- Field/plant electrical and instrumentation engineering/design for Iron Ore and Lithium plants
- Protection coordination and arc flash studies
- Earthing engineering/design
- Procurement, construction, and commissioning activities
- Power system studies including modelling, design, analysis, and generating reports for electrical power systems using DIgSILENT PowerFactory
- Detailed electrical engineering calculations
- Protection relay configurations
- VSD/soft starter settings and testing
- Functional safety
- HV Submissions
- Ensuring compliance to Australian Standards and Regulatory requirements
