The Role and our BranchProfessional Capability - Statewide Services is seeking a highly motivated and committed Coordinator to join the Road Safety and Drug Education branch.We encourage all applicants with diverse professional experiences to apply.The Coordinator will assist with planning, implementation and evaluation of whole-school alcohol and other drug (AOD) education programs. You will collaborate and liaise with school leaders, government and nongovernment agencies, to support metropolitan schools to deliver AOD education programs and may also be required to support regional areas. The position is based at Statewide Services, Padbury.The Coordinator will facilitate school access to practical support, professional learning and resources with a focus on AOD education. Working with members of other teams in Statewide Services on shared priorities and initiatives to deliver integrated services and support to schools. You will assist with the preparation of reports and briefing papers and undertake projects and tasks as directed by senior officers in the Road Safety and Drug Education branch.The Road Safety and Drug Education branch supports schools to implement whole-school AOD and road safety programs. The education strategies and resources support early childhood educators, school administrators, teachers, school support staff, parents/carers and the broader education community throughout Western Australia.

- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia
- hold and maintain a current ‘C’ class drivers’ licence
- undertake travel throughout the state, including overnight stays in metropolitan and nonmetropolitan locations and travelling in small aeroplanes to remote locations, as required
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
