The Cockburn Men’s Shed is a community focused organisation, and the coordinator is contracted to work 8am to 2pm Mon-Tues-Wed-Thur. There are also some out of hours events, where you are expected to work as a volunteer. This role would suit someone who is community minded and able to work the contracted hours at the Shed in Cockburn Central. Both men and women are encouraged to apply.
There is no provision to work from home during the contracted hours.
This coordinator is the point of first contact for new members, so an empathetic person is required, as some men present with signs of depression, some are lonely, and some have cognitive difficulties. The men’s shed is open to all men and the role of the coordinator is to ensure that the first experience in the shed is a positive and inclusive one.
The contract may be extended past September subject to a successful funding application with the City of Cockburn.
