Coordinator of Strings
Melbourne Grammar School is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Coordinator of Strings for Semester 2, 2024.
The incumbent is required to coordinate and teach a Year 2 Strings Programme and students on an individual basis, as well as coordinate a team of String Tutors. The program incorporates some aspects of Kodaly/Orff methodologies.

This role is based at Grimwade House, our coeducational primary school for around 660 Prep – Year 6 students in Caulfield. Here, students build the academic foundations that will support them throughout their education supported by expert teachers, a contemporary curriculum, a dynamic range of co-curricular activities, and a strong pastoral care program.
You will
- Co-ordinate and teach, with a team of string teachers, the Year 2 String Program, including class staffing, meetings, lesson plans and reporting.
- Teach violin/viola on an individual basis for the balance of a full-time loading.
- Be responsible for the selection of music, preparation and conducting of ensembles for performance at assemblies, lunchtime concerts, chapel services, Year 2 string demonstrations and concerts
- Prepare students for AMEB examinations, where appropriate
- Maintain open communication with parents and colleagues
VIT registration, or the ability to gain VIT registration, is essential.
