About the role:The
Coordinator Tourism,
Hospitality and Events will provide a range of administrative, coordination and learning services and duties directly related to the Centre for Tourism and Hospitality, including Youth Learning, Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, Events and Aviation.
Key duties and responsibilities:- Assist the Program Leader with student behaviour management.
- Assist with student interviews (as required for Angliss International Hotel School (AIHS) and Aviation), open day, orientation and graduation, student and industry expos, on/off campus marketing events as required.
- Coordinate the administration required for VET Delivered to School Students (VDSS) program delivery.
- Coordinate masterclasses (AIHS), book off-site training facilities (Aviation), and student uniform fittings (Aviation and AIHS).
- Assist Program Leader with reporting with annual course reviews, IAG meetings, validations and other reporting activities.
- Assist the Program Leader with planning for future cohorts/consult on changes to the delivery of programs that may affect TAS for timetable construction.
The ideal candidate will have:- Applicants require an approved degree, diploma or certificate in a relevant vocational area or approved equivalent qualifications and approved industry experience.
- An approved course of teacher training accredited at Australian Qualifications Framework Level 6 which includes supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching methodology or equivalent and a Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE 40116).
- Demonstrated ability and experience to lead a team of teachers, to plan, teach and assess in a range of units in the Tourism and Hospitality training package or accredited curriculum, in the areas of tourism, hospitality, travel, tourism and/or events.
- Ability to contribute to the development of Training and Assessment Frameworks (TAS), course unit structure and timetables for program delivery.
- Knowledge of current trends in the tourism and hospitality industry and a network of industry contacts.
- Ability to contribute to, and be a part of, the teams working within the Centre of Tourism and Hospitality programs and ability to co-operate and communicate effectively with Institute staff, students and industry personnel.
