Role Overview:
We are looking for an energetic, diligent Copywriter to join our dynamic team in Burleigh Heads. The role involves a variety of content writing tasks that support both internal marketing initiatives and the success of each of our clients. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with a positive attitude, strong written and verbal communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
You will play a fundamental role in producing content for articles, blogs, website copy, advertising copy, and landing page content.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality and engaging copy for service based (trades) businesses, integrating best-practice SEO keywords.
- Edit, proofread, and provide constructive feedback on cross-team content.
- Research industry trends, keywords, and search opportunities to inform content creation. Prepare and create content briefs.
- Utilise WordPress to publish content on the website platform (training can be provided).
- Internal Brands: Produce on-brand and engaging copy, considering brand tone of voice and target audience. Ensure all marketing copy is elevated, on-brand, and channel-appropriate.
- Apply SEO principles to enhance search engine optimisation. Utilise tools like SurferSEO to ensure that content exceeds industry standards.
- Ensure all content is edited and proofread with a high level of accuracy and consistency before publishing.
- Act as a contact point for clients (where needed), ensuring their needs are met promptly and professionally. This may involve onboarding/consultations around their copywriting/content requirements.
- Work swiftly and efficiently, managing tight deadlines to deliver projects on time without compromising quality.
Skills and Experience:
We’re looking for a skilled copywriter with 2+ years of experience. Those with less experience (or graduates) will be considered if you can articulate this clearly in your cover letter.
- Experience writing copy for Google and Facebook Ads
- Experience in website copywriting & article writing
- Experience with topic ideation for blog/article writing
- A working knowledge of SEO and how it applies to content writing.
- Experience working in a digital agency is preferred
- Understanding of SEO content structure – H1, H2, H3, H4
- Demonstrated experience working to tight deadlines and ability to prioritise workload.
- Ideally you will have Tertiary Qualifications in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a similar discipline.
- An understanding of the Trades/Service industry will be highly regarded.
Bonus Points:
These would be GREAT to have - but we can train where needed:
- Experience with SurferSEO (or similar writing tool)
- Experience using Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Analytics and Google Search Console (or similar)
- Proficiency on WordPress is highly desirable.
- Understanding of online marketing strategy, digital marketing and social media
