Placed.au is looking for an experienced Accountant with excellent organizational and administrative skills for our client. Experienced in handling a wide range of financial and accounting responsibilities both internally and externally. Must be well organized and experienced as this role oversees a team of 3 staff in the finance department.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Payroll Management
1. Processing payroll across multiple sites.
2. Declare and lodge payroll tax incurred by the company to the State Revenue Office (SRO).
3. Maintaining payroll information for staff, and update records when necessary, e.g. with changes to insurance coverage, job titles, employee savings & superannuation contributions, department & division transfers.
4. Managing superannuation obligations for all employees with the company's nominated superannuation fund as well as other superannuation funds nominated by the employees on a quarterly basis.
Financial Management
5. Carrying out Bank Reconciliations on a monthly basis.
6. Preparing code, verifying and processing cash flow documents and projections on a monthly basis.
7. Performing monthly reconciliations of all sites.
8. Conducting financial investigations and verifying that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures as required
9. Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets monthly.
10. Advising management on monthly spending and monthly obligations to ensure control being executed on company's financials.
11. Preparation & lodgement of financial reports and relevant information in order to generate Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Income Activity Statements (IAS) and PAYG instalment activity statements.
12. Preparing financial statements for presentation to management, shareholders, and governing and statutory bodies on a monthly basis.
13. Ensuring compliance with industry and ATO regulations by studying regulations and adhering to requirements.
14. Pay GST and other taxes and duties when they are due.
15. Generating budgets and profit and loss statements when required by management.
16. Performing year end audit reconciliations.
17. Managing company's accounts overall by overseeing transactions recorded by team. members and ensuring that bookkeeping is done accurately.
18. Assist with the preparation of end of financial year documentation and financial reports.
Process Improvement
19. Ongoing reporting to management on the review of existing processes, procedures, systems, structure & suppliers to ensure a cost effectiveness and best practice.
20. Analyse and suggest ways to improve and elaborate on current financial processes, by investigating internal control systems.
21. Proactively drive improvements in financial and risk management.
Base Salary
- $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
