Sino Iron is the largest magnetite mining and value-adding operation in Australia, located 100km south-west of Karratha on the Pilbara coast.

Our fully integrated operation features an open pit mine serviced by the biggest haul trucks in the world, a six-line concentrator and port terminal facilities at nearby Cape Preston. Our state-of-the-art power station and desalination plant are among the largest in Western Australia.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a driven Corporate Affairs Advisor to join our small, dynamic Corporate Affairs team. This is a full-time permanent position based in our Perth office, reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs.

In this role, some of the things you’ll be responsible for:

• Protecting and enhancing CITIC Pacific Mining’s reputation and grow the company’s brand, through provision of timely and appropriate communication activities.
• Working closely with and supporting the team’s graduate Communication Coordinator.
• Managing internal communications, including writing of weekly project news, business alerts and notices, media monitoring reports and Intranet content.
• Managing Perth-based staff events
• Identifying opportunities for improvement in process, systems, and outputs within the Corporate Affairs functions
• Content management of external website and other Social Media platforms
• Timely procurement, payment, and management of external consultants, utilising the company’s SAP system.
• Occasional air travel and overnight stays at the mine site, in support of engagement activities
• Maintaining and contributing to a safe working environment

Successful applicant will have:

• Excellent plain English writing skills
• Project management experience
• Experience in planning, execution, and evaluation of internal/external communications strategy
• Ability to multitask with minimal supervision.
• Event management experience
• Extensive understanding of modern communication platforms, including social media, and graphic design principles
• Knowledge of WA mining industry
• Proficiency in the use of IT systems including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, email and multi- media and social media tools.
• Experience in the procurement, payment, and management of suppliers.
• Qualifications in a relevant discipline
