About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team as a Corporate Affairs Adviser specialising in Media and Communications, based in Perth. Reporting to the Global Media Manager, you will protect and enhance Woodside's reputation by helping our team build effective media networks, strengthen monitoring and analysis capabilities, and produce materials that support recognition of Woodside's contribution to economic prosperity and a stable energy transition.
There is an expectation for the role to be on 'on-call' outside of normal business hours on a rostered basis.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the Global Media Manager with management of daily media queries.
- Monitor daily media coverage of Woodside and issues relevant to the company / industry, alerting relevant internal audiences and assessing opportunities for engagement.
- Support expansion of Woodside's real-time media monitoring and analysis capabilities, alerting relevant Woodside internal audiences to breaking media issues and commentary.
- Engage with WA (Perth and regional) media to build relationships and promote positive coverage of Woodside's activities and contributions.
- Support the Global Media Manager with development and execution of key company announcements and Communications.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date approved public messages.
- A tertiary qualification in communications, media studies, public relations or other relevant area is desirable.
- Previous experience working with a media organisation or in a corporate communications / media advisory role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, establish clear priorities and deliver business outcomes.
- Strong networking skills and demonstrated experience in building relationship and influencing stakeholders.
- Proven ability to create and implement engagement and advocacy plans and strategies.
- Ability to understand public policy issues and trends and interpret them for a business context.
