Our client has created a new role for a Legal Counsel to join its dynamic legal team and they can offer:

Working alongside a team of exceptional legal professionals, your responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with business leaders to develop legal strategies that align with corporate objectives.
- Providing expert legal advice on complex and strategic legal matters.
- Managing legal risks with a focus on commercial outcomes, including drafting and negotiating complex contracts.
- Providing legal support in relation to corporate projects including M&A.
- Engaging with regulators and other relevant bodies - local and abroad.
- Supporting the legal team’s continuous improvement and transformation initiatives.
- Provide legal education to across the business on relevant topics.
- Engage with, instruct, and manage external counsel.
Our clients requirements include:
- 4-8 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within an in-house setting or a top-tier private practice.
- Current Australian practising certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
- A broad spectrum of corporate and commercial legal experience e.g., M&A, contract law, competition and consumer law, construction law, and/or general corporate advisory).
- Demonstrable commercial acumen and strong negotiation skills.
- The ability to demystify complex legal concepts and engage with a diverse range of non-legal stakeholders.
