About You
As our Corporate Development Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping Active Utilities' growth trajectory. This is a newly formed role, offering you a unique opportunity to build and lead our Corporate Development function from the ground up. You'll be a strategic thinking with a proven track record of identifying and executing transformative Corporate Development initiatives that drive value and expansion for our business.
This role will be based in either our office in Essendon Fields, or our office in Wayville, Adelaide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Corporate Development strategy that aligns with our long-term goals and maximises shareholder value.
- Proactively identify and evaluate potential mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and new market entries.
- Conduct rigorous due diligence and financial modelling to assess the viability and potential impact of Corporate Development opportunities.
- Lead negotiations, structure deals, and manage the execution of transactions, ensuring optimal outcomes for Active Utilities.
- Oversee post-acquisition integration processes, ensuring smooth transitions and realising the full value of acquired assets or partnerships.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform Corporate Development strategies.
What We're Looking For
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Corporate Development, investment banking, or a related field, with a demonstrated track record of successful deal execution.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial analysis, valuation, and modelling skills, with a deep understanding of M&A processes and deal structuring.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to think strategically, analyse complex business situations, and make sound recommendations to senior management.
- Negotiation Prowess: Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive successful outcomes.
- Communication Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex concepts and strategies.
- Drive & Initiative: Self-motivated, results-oriented individual with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
