About the role
Manage the development of Council's new Council Plan for 2025-2029 with a forward vision looking towards 2033. As the Corporate Planning and Project Coordinator, you will drive the process of creating the new 4-year strategic plan. This plan will shape the vision, priorities, and initiatives for the Yarra Ranges Council considering the aspirations and opportunities out to 2033. This will involve:
- Leading consultations and stakeholder engagement to gather input from community members, businesses, Councillors and staff on their needs and aspirations for 2025-2029 and beyond to 2033.
- Conducting research and analysis on emerging trends, issues and opportunities facing the region over the next four years.
- Facilitating workshops and discussions to define the strategic objectives, targets, and key actions for the new plan.
- Synthesising all inputs into a cohesive, actionable Council Plan document that articulates the long-term community vision.
- Obtaining council endorsement for the final 2025-2029 Council Plan.
What you'll bring to our team
- Exceptional strategic planning, analysis, and drafting skills.
- Very strong and highly adaptable stakeholder engagement and facilitation abilities.
- Experience developing corporate plans, strategies, or policies.
- Knowledge of council operations, governance, and strategic planning processes.
- Ability to manage complex projects end-to-end.
Your planning, coordination and leadership skills will be critical in steering the successful development of this vital strategic blueprint for the Council's future direction over 2025-2029.

- Option to take up a monthly RDO.
- Temporary, full-time position until June 2025 (parental leave backfill) (76 hours fortnightly).
- Salary between $104,442 and $116,870 (Band 7) per annum, plus 11% superannuation.
