To find out more about us, visit our website: www.cea.com.auThe PositionThe primary function of the Cost Analyst is to lead all project cost and risk activities for new projects. They will act as the lead liaison between the Bids and Contracts Section, the Engineering Manager and other key stakeholders across Engineering, Programs, Strategy and Finance to achieve a level of pricing acumen to aid CEA's pricing capability in relation to the order intake. The Cost Analyst also aids the underpinning business processes (including proposals, tender responses, expressions of interest (EOIs), and contract change proposals (CCPs)) for Commonwealth and international programs within the Bids and Contracts section, and to inform strategic planning for the future.The role is responsible for:
  • Analysing data from a range of sources to proactively identity trends, risks, opportunities and recommend solutions for existing and new programs.
  • Lead and coordinate the current pricing framework and baselines to determine project cost, highlighting also, any risks that may arise for new and existing programs.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining strategic business relationships and communication channels across Bids and Contracts, Engineering, Programs, Strategy and Finance to ensure all subject matter pricing, cost and risk inputs are accurately incorporated into CEA's tender responses, proposals and quotations.
  • Assist in the incorporation of risk margins into new programs based on risk registers and Project Managers/subject matter expert guidance.
  • Responsible for proactively providing pricing and cost analysis assistance to support contract negotiation processes.
  • Responsible for providing defence and cost market intelligence to inform strategic business decisions.
Essential
  • Bachelor's Degree in data science/finance/commerce or relevant field or relevant role/organisational experience
  • Strong Analytical skills with a minimum 3 years' experience in a cost and/or commercial data analysis role
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Self-starter, driven and proactive
  • Articulate communication skills - written and verbal
  • Excellent internal and external stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
  • A willingness to innovate and implement change for business improvement and pricing efficiency
EligibilityTo be eligible for this position you must be:
  • An Australian Citizen
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance at the NV1 level
