ABOUT THE ROLE
Join our Business Partnering Commercial Team as a Cost Analyst and support the Cost Control Lead and asset operational teams with your expertise. As a Cost Analyst, you'll work with the Integrated Gas Business to ensure cost transparency, manage purchase orders, and help Project Managers under project costs and forecasts.
More about the role:
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with Project Managers to provide cost insights, perform deep dives into expenditure items, and conduct trend analysis to keep projects on budget.
- Reconciliation Skills: Review multiple data sources for accurate reporting and develop project cost tracking reports for granular cost monitoring.
- Reporting: Compare actual monthly spend to budget and forecast, prepare variance analysis commentary, and ensure accurate data reporting and corrective action planning.
- Accruals Management: Create and submit monthly accruals, reconcile purchase order commitments, and provide advice on open purchase orders.
- Project Support: Assist in the project lifecycle, creating work breakdown structures (WBS), developing project cost estimates, and scheduling progress reporting. Including project close out activities.
- Capital Funding: Guide project managers and stakeholders through the capital funding allocation process, including project setup and closeout.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will bring demonstrated experience in project cost control or financial analysis, with a drive and passion for continuous process improvement. Your expertise will include providing cost insights, ensuring compliance with procurement and Joint Venture processes, and guaranteeing the accurate and timely capture and reporting of costs.
More about you:
- Functional knowledge of electronic cost control tools, including Microsoft Office and relevant software programs.
- Experience with large ERP systems.
- Technical competence in cost tracking and reporting.
- Ability to interpret cost and schedule data for forecasting purposes.
