Cost Controller - Major Renewables project - Flexible work options - Perth based
Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is looking for a Cost Controller to join their team. They currently own one of the strongest project portfolios in WA, across the Mining, Oil & Gas, and Energy sectors. Due to their variety and stable project pipeline, they offer long-term contracts which they are keen to turn into ongoing or permanent arrangements according to your preference.

What you’ll do
- Track project expenses against approved budgets and forecasts
- Analyse and identify cost trends, and offer insights to project management
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to establish project budgets
- Frequently update and maintain cost forecasts during the project lifecycle
- Perform assessment on the impact of scope changes regarding project costs and communicate findings
- Perform variance analysis between actual and budget/forecast costs
- Generate financial reports for key stakeholders and project management
- Ensure financial data accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Ensure accuracy in the recording and tracking of contract commitments, such as accuracy and adherence to contractual standards and terms
- Perform regular cost audits to uphold adherence to project financial controls
- Identify and address cost risks and uncertainties and create risk mitigation strategies
What you’ll have
- Previous professional experience in related duties
- CPA or Chartered Accountant qualification, or Engineering Degree or the equivalent years of experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work in a busy environment and deal with conflicting priorities
- A pro-active team player mindset
