Job description

Due to business growth, Stockland is seeking a Cost Planner/ Senior Cost Planner to join the Sustainability & Delivery team in a role that can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney. This is a key position covering all business assets and is an integral part of Design Management, Project Management and Direct Procurement and the Development Process. There will be a key focus on driving Sustainability & ESG Business initiatives on projects through a cost planning lense in innovative and progressive ways.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Provide sound professional advice in all aspects of Cost Planning from pre-acquisition phase estimates, through to pre-tender of a project.
  • Ensure all principles of the Stockland process are undertaken by both internal and external teams and project goals and objectives are adhered to
  • Propose value solutions and risk minimization to ensure certainty of outcome.
  • Actively promote working relationships with key to assist in achieving required business outcomes.
  • Promote and foster key relationships with Quantity Surveyor and Consultant teams.
  • Develop relationship management skills to build consensus and influence stakeholders to achieve Stockland's objectives
  • Monitor market conditions, escalation, and construction price fluctuations.
  • Understand current building regulations and how they impact building designs.
  • Continuously update and incorporate information from past projects (Benchmarks within Stockland)
  • Be an active and supportive member of the project management team
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and consultants (e.g. project management, design, development management) and with other business groups (e.g. Capital Transactions, Asset Management, Development)
  • Share project feedback across property asset classes
  • Contribute to Stockland project management forums, initiatives and programs

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline or other qualifications in conjunction with suitable experience may be considered.
  • Experience within built form property sector
  • Experience on Medium Density Housing, Land Lease Communities, Civil and Infrastructure, Mixed Use, Multi-Residential
  • Thorough knowledge of Cost Planning in the range of cost plans from the earliest stages of a feasibility through to pre-tender estimates and variation assessments
  • Solid relevant experience in the building/construction industry.
  • Experience of a broad range of projects ranging in value, within varying construction delivery frameworks.
  • Experience in multi-stakeholder projects
  • Demonstrated experience with on screen Cost Planning software (CostX), Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated experience in elemental and trade rate formulation and analysis on major projects.
