West Arnhem Regional Council covers an area of almost 50,000 km2 of stunning natural landscape in the western part of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.
More than two thirds of the region’s population of just over 6,000 identify as Aboriginal Australians, who reside in a collection of towns, communities and outstations. Council provides a range of local government services to five towns and communities across five wards with many popular tourist destinations.
About the role
The Council Service Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of Council services in the Warruwi community. This includes leading and directing employees through building and maintaining productive teams and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will direct, oversee and monitor the delivery of road maintenance and repair, parks and gardens maintenance, sport and recreation services, Centrelink, a crèche, community care programs and after-school care
About you
- Previous management experience and well-developed skills in: asset management, project management, provision of service delivery programs, people management, budget analysis, and business operations
- Proven ability to undertake multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively manage workloads to meet critical time frames.
- Have a sound understanding of the issues affecting Indigenous communities in remote locations and cultural awareness
