As Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality intake, screening, assessment, counselling, and support services. You will work within Centrecare’s Therapeutic Framework, ensuring consistency in program design, delivery, and outcome measurement. Your responsibilities will include providing counselling and support to victims of domestic and family violence, conducting risk assessments and safety planning, and facilitating individual counselling sessions.
A few specifics
- Provide counselling and support to individuals affected by domestic and family violence.
- Utilise Centrecare’s Therapeutic Framework to maintain consistency in program design and service delivery.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety planning, and risk management in line with best practice standards.
- Actively support clients to engage and participate in counselling sessions and/or external programs.
- Manage counselling caseload, conduct client assessments, and develop case plans based on clients' needs.
- Maintain documentation, including case notes, screenings, assessments, and support plan.
- Flexible 0.6 FTE regular roster with negotiable days to accommodate the candidate's availability.
- Requiring the availability to work one evening per week until 8 pm.
Essential Requirements:
- Recognised tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counselling, or related disciplines.
- Experience in counselling individuals, couples, and families.
- Experience working with individuals who have experienced family and domestic violence.
- Experience in case management and coordination of client services.
- Knowledge and experience in intake, assessment, and case management.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge.
- National Police Clearance
Desirable Skills:
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Willingness to work one evening a week until 8 pm if required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
