The Family Counselling Team provides counselling, advocacy, support and education to people, families and their communities to promote empowerment, hope and positive change. In this role you will provide professional general and family and domestic violence counselling, education and training services, implement quality systems and administrative process in consultation with Manager East Kimberley Services.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent opportunity based in Kununurra.


What you will bring

You are a passionate and talented individual who wants to be part of a team who delivers quality services to our clients. To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Counselling and/or Masters in related discipline
  • Eligibility for professional association membership
  • Experience counselling individuals, couples and families
  • Knowledge of current trends and resources in general counselling, family and domestic violence, community education and community development
  • Counselling and conflict resolution
  • Community consultation and community development strategies
  • Knowledge and respect for aboriginal culture and cultural security

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, WA Driver's Licence and WA Working with Children Check.

  • Salary starting from $101,876 (inclusive of remote allowance) + 11.5% superannuation 
  • Electricity allowance of $1,000 per year
  • Rent subsidy of $300 per week

  • Additional one week’s annual leave and remote airfare allowance after 12 months of service
