This position sits within the Family, Youth and Children's Services team. Based across our Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance locations, the Family, Youth and Children Services (FYCS) Unit provides services such as:
- Alcohol and Drug
- Family Services
- Counselling
- Maternal and Child Health
- Homelessness Support Program
- Youth Programs
- Family Violence programs for victims and perpetrators
- Emergency Recovery
About the role
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the role of the Generalist Counsellor is to provide a responsive and accessible service assisting with counselling for people across all age groups and diverse backgrounds, addressing presenting issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationships, family violence, complex trauma and self-harm. You may also be involved in undertaking group work, case conferences and advocacy as part of an integrated model to promote health and wellbeing.
