We are seeking experienced Senior Counselling Lecturers for the role of Course Coordinator and Senior Lecturer.
Depending upon your level of experience, opportunities exist to coordinate and deliver the;
- Bachelor of Counselling (Master level qualification required) OR
- Master of Counselling (PhD level qualification required)
Flexible arrangements, including full-time or part-time options, are available. Additionally, Sydney or Melbourne can be your preferred location.

About the role:
The Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator will enjoy a combination of teaching, course coordination and academic leadership.
You will enjoy an exciting teaching environment, teaching students to become real-world-ready practitioners who are curious, ethical, and want to make a positive impact in the world.
You will be involved in reviewing and developing innovative course and unit materials and providing support and direction to academic staff in these tasks.
Responsibilities include;
- Lead a team of dedicated teaching staff, guide students and play a pivotal role in the development of course content.
- Ensure that the delivery of all Counselling units is of a high standard and compliant with institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor teaching staff and support the day-to-day running of the Counselling courses.
- Monitor and maintain academic standards, ensuring compliance with ACAP policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance, mentorship and academic support to students ensuring their success in Counselling courses.
- Oversee curriculum, course and assessment improvement, ensuring alignment with industry trends, professional association expectations and best practices.
- Engage students through supporting student-centred teaching and learning processes.
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the following essential criteria;
- Master of Counselling qualification, &/or PhD
- Extensive experience working and teaching Counselling in a tertiary education institution.
- Experience in course development and program delivery.
- Knowledge of relevant academic and professional accreditation standards.
- Proven track record of substantial industry practice in the counselling field, showcasing real-world expertise and insights.
- Membership with a relevant professional association, PACFA or ACA.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work and build relationships with all levels of staff
- A student-focussed approach and are committed to continuous improvement of teaching practice
- Drive and dedication to developing your academic career in counselling and academic leadership
