Job Description:

We are seeking a Creative Event Design Assistant to join our team and support our Creative Director in bringing creative concepts to life. This role is ideal for someone who is willing to learn, great at assisting and has a been eye for event design, graphic design and high end presentation. Ideally comes from a design, visual merchandising or fashion background.  

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in Event Design: Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualise and develop event design themes, including set & bar design, décor, lighting, floral arrangements, and other design elements.
  2. Visualize Concepts: Create mood boards, design sketches, and visual presentations to convey design ideas to clients and team members.
  3. Vendor Coordination: Assist in sourcing and managing relationships with vendors, including florists, decorators, and rental companies, to ensure that all design elements are executed according to the plan.
  4. Venue Visits: Visit event venues to assess layout and design possibilities, making recommendations and adjustments as needed.
  5. Material Sourcing: Research and source design materials, props, and accessories, while maintaining awareness of current industry trends.
  6. Budget Management: Assist in managing project budgets by tracking expenses and finding cost-effective solutions.
  7. Installation Support: On event days, work alongside the setup team to ensure that the design elements are executed flawlessly, troubleshooting any issues as they arise.
  8. Client Interaction: Maintain open communication with clients to address their design-related questions, concerns, and feedback.
  9. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of design concepts, vendor contracts, and project timelines.
  10. Social Media: The role will do weekly Instagram / Facebook and LinkedIn posts and manage photography, videography & on-set styling. 

Qualifications:

  • A passion for event design, lifestyle design and a strong creative flair.
  • Previous experience in event design or a related field is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A high level of attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends and evenings during event execution.
