About the Role:
This role is primarily responsible for supporting the Specialised Finance, SMB and Flexilease businesses in relation to carrying out credit assessments for new and existing customers in a timely manner. Furthermore, the role will ensure completion of various other credit and settlement related activities primarily relating to vehicle and commercial equipment finance opportunities. It will also provide credit support across other lines of business, including rental, novated and fleet as needed.
The successful applicant will possess:
- 3-5 years credit analysis and underwriting experience including some specific experience in an equipment/asset finance environment - can be non-bank or banking environment.
- Have strong numeracy skills with experience in analysing SME and Sole Trader businesses and understanding credit risks.
- Strong preference for relevant tertiary degree and accounting/financial analysis qualifications
Reporting to the Credit Manager, responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing new lending proposals, analyse financial, asset and transaction risks, and articulately underwrite opportunities across a wide variety of industries and asset classes.
- Analysis of financial statements, tax returns, bank-statements, Aged Receivables/Creditors and other supporting information to provide meaningful assessment of Credit worthiness for all deals. This involves possessing strong knowledge of financial statements, various corporate structures and assessing the relevant risks and making logical and sound recommendations and decisions under a Credit Approval Authority.
- Undertake all customer verification and identification procedures when and where required.
- Working alongside sales teams to assist in information gathering and structuring of transactions to ensure credit needs are understood and met.
- Build relationships with internal customers to support their understanding of the credit process and consistently strive to improve and enhance credit tools and methods.
- Approve Credit Applications as per delegated authority.
- Provide day-to-day support to the Credit Manager and the broader credit team on an ad-hoc basis.
