The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director the Credit Control Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial stability of Taylors Wines by ensuring timely collections and managing credit risk. The role will efficiently manage accounts receivable, resolve outstanding payments, address short payments and pricing claims, and reconcile accounts. Evaluate new credit applications, conduct credit checks, prepare regular reports, and achieve DSO objectives.
Day to day tasks will include:
- Efficiently and accurately managing the accounts receivable process
- Resolving outstanding payments and discrepancies
- Addressing short payments and pricing claims with customers
- Reconciling accounts for accuracy and completeness by liaising with the Account officer
- Preparation of regular reports on accounts receivable status
- Achievement of Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) objectives
- Evalutation of new credit applications and conducting credit checks
About You
You will be self motivated with a proven track record in managing and maintaining accurate records of collections and managing credit risks.
- 2-3 years experience in a similar role
- A degree or Tafe qualification in finance, accounting, business administration or similar
- Understanding of financial regulations and credit management practices
- Knowledge of accounting software and Excel
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
