Job Description:ObjectiveThe objective of this role is to implement effective credit control policies and procedures to minimise credit risk and improve collection efficiency. Managing credit and receivable accounts across all areas to contribute to the Pitney Bowes' overall financial stability and profitability.
Key AccountabilitiesContact customers within assigned Debtor portfolio to ensure outstanding debts are collected effectively to reduce arrears, maximise cash collection and reduce bad debt in line with strategic outcomes;Timely processing of client queries to ensure Debtor portfolio is clean and up to dateUnderstand and identify key risk indicators and flag immediately to ensure early collection intervention to mitigate non-payment;Proactive and courteous Customer contact at all times in a high-volume environment to discuss overdue account and obtain payment in a timely manner;Possess strategies to handle difficult conversations when required and deal with problematic clients across a vulnerable customer base whilst ensuring the highest standards of Customer service at all times;Case manage specialised Debtor portfolios (e.g. deceased estates, bankruptcies, legal action, etc.) and manage complex queries as required in line with Company Policies and relevant Legislation;Prepare case files for legal review and action based upon recommendations with appropriate Business approval;Escalate Customer billing related issues and see through to resolution to ensure successful outcomes;Complete complex reconciliations to ensure accurate Customer records and financial reporting;Support cash application and contract maintenance across all areas of PB business to ensure ledgers reflect accurately customers position;Ensure all collection activity is made in line with ACCC (Australian Competition & Consumer Commission) guidelines, policy and procedures, and noted and recorded accurately and concisely with appropriately diarised follow up actions;Answer incoming/referred calls and make proactive outbound calls in a high-volume environment; andAny other task that is required to be completed by the business from time to time.
Key ResultsDebtors days and lease delinquency ratios are on or below target;Ensure company compliance;Reporting accurately on debtor portfolio;Debtors portfolio is clean with cash and credit notes properly allocatedKey Capabilities/Qualifications/ExperienceExcellent teamwork, organisation and communication skills;Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail;Proven track record of making successful credit decisions;Familiarity with data entry and analysis;The ability to listen to customers and negotiate winning solutions;Solid experience working with MS Office particularly Excel and OLFM; andCapability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
