As the Credit Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining all debtors within the required limits of the Company policy, ensuring the protection and collectability of all credit provided to customers, minimising losses and improving recoveries. Deliver timely and accurate financial information to support Business Unit operations, comply with all Panasonic policies and requests, International Financial Reporting Standards and local statutory and regulatory reporting requirements. Implement strategies to manage and monitor major risk factors to maximise cash flows, reduce operational risk and secure corporate assets.The key responsibilities we would trust you with:
- Directing and supervising the activities of the credit team to ensure the timely and accurate collection of outstanding balances, maintenance of credit limits and outstanding debts at acceptable levels.
- Ensure sales executives are informed of any issues and seek their support to manage customer collections in accordance with company terms and policies
- Prepare annual collection activity budget by sales division/by channel and for total company
- Meet cash flow expectations which include forecasting cash collections
- Ensure that the ERP system is maintained in a manner which meets the requirements of SOX, internal and external audits and integrity of controls for effective customer credit limit and risk management
- Ensure that all credit trading terms and policies are maintained in accordance with Credit Trade Practices, Contract and all Consumer related laws
- Prepare monthly management reports and share with internal stakeholders on AR balances, collection ratio, overdues and reasons for late payments etc
- Credit Management Course completion from TAFE or recognised and Accredited Training Body
- Leadership and team management with at least five years' experience in credit management in a high-volume transaction environment with direct staff reports
- A thorough understanding of risk management and credit rating methodologies
- Extensive experience dealing with customers and internal stakeholders on a verbal and written manner and evidence of a high level of negotiation skills
- Excellent understanding of and involvement in using an ERP system for implementing collections and credit compliance (with some engagement with SAP preferable)
- Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley compliance and activities
- Requires knowledge of credit insurance risk management strategies and the negotiation of policies which provides the appropriate level of risk coverage at the most economical level
- Identifies better ways to accomplish goals and exceed expectations; helps people to look for new ways to solve old problems
- Strong team player - willing to 'pitch in' when required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products e.g., Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook etc
