We are looking for an experienced Credit Officer to join our Finance team in Sydney based in Moorebank.
Responsibilities
- Maintain effective and efficient credit application process including credit insurance coverage for Oceania region
- Ensure timely collection of Accounts Receivable including COD accounts, minimise overdue debts and bad debt risk whilst maintaining positive client relationship
- Ensure timely allocation of customer payments
- Debtor insurance management – ensure adequate credit limits are in place for all approved customers and assist Credit Control Team Lead in regular debtor insurance reviews
- Monitor WIP (unbilled) accounts for Oceania region
- Maintain effective bad and doubtful debt management practices
- Prepare fortnightly aging list with action plans for overdue accounts for management review
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver best results for the organisation and the customer in all aspects of Accounts Receivable
- Timely and accurate completion of month end tasks including closing of AR ledger and clearing pending payment batches
- Maintain full understanding and compliance with credit control policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g. Customs, ATO, Code of Conduct, Global and Regional Credit policies)
- Provide recommendations for process improvement in the Credit Control function
- Other ad hoc finance support when required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience in Collections or Accounts Receivable, preferably in the transport and logistics industry
- Relevant qualification in finance and accounting or equivalent
- Experience in SAP FI/CO & BI and reporting engines is desirable
- Experience using Microsoft Office with intermediate to advance excel skills
- Good understanding of legal requirements in Australia relating to collections
- Excellent written and verbal skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer focus – internal and external
- Ability to deal with complexity and intensity
