The focus of the role is to provide high quality advice, information and representation in criminal matters in northern Tasmania. The role also involves providing community legal education.About You:

• Experience working as an advocate in the Magistrates Court would be preferred but is not essential and have undertaken work in the Supreme Court.
• An understanding of the social issues faced by members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A team player, working positively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
• High level of personal initiative, resourcefulness and diligence.
• Basic competency in the use of MS Office and the capacity to quickly acquire competency in the use of client databases.

Requirements:

• Admission or eligibility for admission as a Legal Practitioner in Tasmania.
