Responsibilities:
- Attending and represent clients in criminal proceedings, including pleas of guilty, contest mentions, bail applications etc
- Depending on experience, Magistrate Court hearings and appeals, Preparation of indictable briefs both for the County and Supreme courts, instructing at trials, and some superior court appearance work.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to build strong cases
- Collaborate with internal team members and external partners to achieve optimal outcomes for clients
- Recognised Law degree
- Admission to the Bar in Victoria with a right to practice
- Proven experience in criminal law is preferred but we look at graduates if their passion lies in the criminal sector
- Strong litigation skills, including courtroom experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Commitment to ethical conduct and upholding the principles of justice
