We have an exciting opportunity for a full time CT Assistants to work with our southern region CT Team, undertaking cannulations, preparing equipment and providing high quality, patient-centred care.
These positions will be primarily based in our Edwardstown clinic. However, you may be asked to travel between these clinics, and to our other southern region, in particular Glenelg and Ashford clinics, from time to time.
You must be available to work Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.30pm.
About the role
As the CT Assistant, you will be reporting to the CT Team Leader and work very closely with other health professionals, ensuring you perform cannulations and patient care to a high standard.
Responsibilities within this role include:
- Perform cannulations, provide patient care and assist with department workflow in adherence to Benson Radiology Policies, Procedures, and Protocols.
- Analyse request forms and assist staff to ensure the appropriate examination is performed to obtain optimal information.
- Consult with colleagues and Radiologists as required.
- Assist CT Radiographers, nursing and clinical staff by preparing equipment and patients for imaging examinations, including manual handling and patient positioning.
- Proactively assess bookings and workflow to allow maximum efficiency, with flexibility to accommodate urgent cases and walk-in patients.
- Work as part of a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality, patient centred care
About you:
You will thrive working in a busy, fast paced environment within a highly skilled, welcoming multi-disciplinary team. In addition you will have:
- Demonstrated ability to cannulate efficiently or demonstrated experience with venepuncture
- Experience and knowledge of working to scheduled appointment times and ensuring smooth workflow
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with patients, team members and other stakeholders
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of radiology imaging systems (e.g. COMRAD, PACS) would be highly regarded but is not essential to be successful in the position
- Valid CPR certification or a willingness to undertake this qualification
You will require a valid driver licence and access to a vehicle.
You must have, or be willing to obtain, a DHS working with children clearance and national police clearance.
