About the role
The Customer Project Manager is responsible for customer-initiated projects within a geographical area of the United Energy network and is the contact point for customer inquiries relating to electricity supply increases and asset relocation works.
The Customer Project Manager leads and manages Customer Projects with:
- Design
- Planning
- Negotiation
- Co-ordination and management of human, material and capital resources.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Effectively liaise with customers, service providers and other authorities regarding contractual obligations and business objectives.
- Identify and manage scope variations with the customer aligned to contract requirements.
- Provide timely advice, technical support and communication to key stakeholders across the business regarding project status, undertaking tasks and implementation of issues / project plans.
- Maintain/develop networks and relationships with key customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and planning authorities, in order to effectively deliver technical advice and meet deadlines on projects.
- Identify and manage community consultation requirements.
- Provide technical advice to customers on connection of supply to the distribution network.
- Identify and anticipate the needs of clients and deliver services that meet and exceeds client expectations and commit to continuous improvement in planning, process and services.
- Provide customer and non-customer cost estimates.
- Undertake monthly reporting requirements to ensure continual monitoring of financial performance including WIP, value earned, budget versus actual, forecasting.
- Assist the Manager in the annual development and on-going monitoring of budgets, monthly (profit and loss) analysis and quarterly forecasting.
About you
You’ll bring with you a proven track record in project management, comprehensive expertise in the tendering process, and proficient contract administration skills. Exceptional time management abilities are essential, complemented by strong verbal, interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills. In addition you will have:
- A Diploma in Power or other relevant qualification within the power industry.
- Relevant experience in a similar role where you managed the connection of supply within the electrical distribution industry.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of all electrical supply policies, maintenance strategies and industry governing regulations.
- Proficiency in electrical distribution design.
- Sound financial management skills.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft office and customer information system packages.
