The Role
As a key member of the Workforce Management Systems team, you will be responsible for providing Data Analyst support for the National Labour Centre and WFM Systems team.
The role will require strong SQL skills in order to create data extracts for ad-hoc and on-going reporting. It involves reviewing the quality of data and identifying data errors, bad data entries or incorrect configuration within the workforce management system. Working with the QUBE IT team, this role will create data sets and dashboards for our Sisense BI platform.
The role working with the Business Analyst is critical in assisting the National Labour Centre to drive better workforce management outcomes through analytical and reporting support with actionable recommendations. Reports and data analysis need to be catered to apply to specific levels in the organisation, such as Executive Leadership, Senior, Management, Site Operational Management levels.
Key Accountabilities
  • Undertake SQL scripts, to extract ad-hoc data to fulfil business requirements.
  • Maintain and streamline existing scheduled SQL data extracts at business required frequencies.
  • Identify and create regular scheduled data scripts to assist the National Labour Centre and wider business.
  • Filter and “clean” data to locate correct data subsets to ensure the quality and accuracy of source data.
  • Review data for data errors, bad entries or incorrect configuration within the system.
  • Create data sets and dashboards for use in our Sisense BI platform.
  • Develop reports, presentations and dashboards to provide insights and trends in labour costs and labour management to Qube management and finance teams that are easily consumable.
  • Support Industrial Relations GM's with data and analysis leading up to and during EA negotiations.
  • Look for opportunities for reports and data analysis that will assist the allocations to create compliant, cost effective rosters.
  • Undertake data analysis of workforce management data, identify trends and risks to the business.

  • Strong SQL experience
  • Expertise in Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, macros, and data visualisation.
  • Proficiency in other MS packages (e.g. MS Word, Teams, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analysis, interpretation and documentation skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Broad experience and knowledge of workforce management & payroll systems
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Functional understanding and experience with ERP, BI and reporting tools
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Relationships with other roles and external stakeholders which are critical to ensuring role effectiveness.
Additional Skills and Knowledge
Essential
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills

  • Respond to internal business user requests for assistance with issues related to application and functions
  • Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Data Analysis, or a related field.
Desirable
  • Experience with AWS Redshift and Sisense
  • Understanding of modern awards and industrial instruments
  • Experience with Microster, TMS, iChris, Jemini and/or Deputy
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Accelo, SNOW
