Address We are currently seeking a permanent, full time Data Analyst – Data Governance to join the Data Governance Team (within Data, Analytics and Insight) to support the bank’s Data Governance and management activities. Using a love of everything data, this position will help the bank to document its critical data, reduce data risk, meet data-related compliance obligations, document data controls, define business terminology, improve data quality and uplift data literacy.

What you will be doing
Administer the bank’s Business Glossary (and its metadata schema)
Contribute to the Business Information Model (structured representation of the bank’s data) by identifying, registering, defining and mapping:
Critical data (the data that poses the most risk and is of the most value to the business)
Data analysis reports o Data risks and
Controls that prevent, detect or correct data quality issues.
Assist in the facilitation of data quality remediation by identifying data issues, triaging issues, facilitating remediation collaboration between stakeholders and monitoring remediation outcomes
Support the Data Governance Team researching and writing data standards, processes, and guidelines
Assist the Data Governance Specialist with the administration of the Data at Bank Australia and working groups as relevant
Monitor the Data Governance internal mailbox and calendar.
What you will bring
Experience in Data Governance or data analytics, while not required, is highly desirable
Strong and effective communication skills (interpersonal, written and verbal) and ability and confidence to engage and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders
Ability to communicate data concepts and explain data with clarity to others
Self-starting attitude and ability to think logically, analytically and creatively
Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor degree in computer / data science, or similar)
