- Full time / Part time considered maximum-term position up to June 2026
- Salary based on experience, range $98,902 - $123,624 plus super
- Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model
About the role:
The Data Business Analyst will work with various business areas of Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) to help deliver projects and activities which improve our operations and deliver on our strategic goals. This role works closely with a variety of data technical specialists with a focus on supporting improvements in our Data Management and Data Governance through producing documentation and undertaking exploratory analysis.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country, and can also be based at our Regional Offices.
About you:
As our ideal candidate:
- Work collaboratively with business areas and/or project teams to define and deliver high-quality outputs which contribute to project or organisational goals related to data management and data quality improvements.
- Create and maintain documentation, including project artefacts, business process maps, data flow maps business and data glossaries to support continuous improvement projects in our data governance.
- Provide advice and support to key stakeholders to understand their underlying problems and needs around evidence-based decision-making, and work with them collaboratively to identify and implement data-driven solutions.
- Conduct data analysis as required, as well as exploratory analysis to identify patterns, trends and relationships in internal and external data to identify opportunities for business and service improvements.
- Maintain an understanding of business systems/processes and data flows from these into the data warehouse.
- Support stakeholders to develop their data literacy in order to support the business needs that have been identified, in collaboration with the rest of Outcomes and Evidence staff.
